Our Club

Lincoln and District British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC 109) was formed in 1960. When we were the first BSAC branch in the Lincoln area and after more than 60 years we are still going strong.

We are proud to have members who have been with us for a long time and those who have only just joined us and lots in between. We have ladies and gents through a whole range of ages from teenagers to Septuagenarians and all ages in between.

We have our own training room and offer training at all levels of BSAC and welcome members from other organisations too. We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings and we swim & train in a local pool on Sundays.

We have our own RHIB which we launch on a regular basis and along with a compressor for our members to use, we are ready & keen to ‘get wet’ at every available opportunity.

We dive throughout the year at inland sites like Stoney Cove, Capernwray & Guidenburgh to train & refresh our skills as well as check out any new kit, and we often venture around the UK coast: from visiting the seals in the Farnes to exploring the wrecks of Scotland’s west coast or out into the North Sea from the Yorkshire coastline. The South Coast including Portsmouth, Plymouth, Dorset and Cornwall are among our favourites. Our members have dived (and continue to plan trips) all around the world from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean to Indonesia, the Caribbean, Cambodia or Australia and lots of places in between.

We have our own instructors and strong links with other clubs and organisations to enable us to support new and existing members with their diving ambitions. Don’t worry if you don’t have any kit – we have plenty you can use throughout your training and lots of advice for you when you do come to look for your own Scuba equipment.

It’s not all about diving – we have an active social calendar including Quiz nights, BBQ’s, Race nights and an annual formal Dinner & Dance where our gents don their dinner jackets & bow ties and our ladies their formal gowns. We take advantage of this event to celebrate our year of diving & award those who have successfully completed any training.

If you are a diver already, or would like to ‘have a go’ we would love to hear from you. We can share our tales and experiences and work together to achieve our ambitions.
